William Boyd Will, 72, of Blue Grass, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Augusta Health.
He was born November 22, 1948 in Blue Grass, a son of the late William Cyrus and Alice Wanda (Harper) Will.
A 1967 Highland High School graduate, William was drafted by the United States Army and ultimately served three tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and certificate of appreciation for his faithful performance of duty. A logger by trade, William was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, who enjoyed time spent shooting and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. William attended Wayside Baptist Church. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving father and friend to many.
He is survived by his son, William “Bill” Sidney Will of Blue Grass; three brothers, Jimmie and wife, Linda, Jackie and wife, Carla and Joe and wife, Kim, all of Blue Grass; long-time friend and mother to his son, Mary Will of Blue Grass; nieces, Kitty Rexrode and Amanda Dray; nephews, Jamie, Justin, Aaron and Brett Will; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as special cousins, Edna Chestnut and Buddy Harper.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Joy Ashlin; and niece, Jodie Will.
A graveside memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2021 in Blue Grass Cemetery with Rev. Kathryn A. Hull officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Humphries, Tanner Bussard, Jamie Will, Travis Lambert, Pat Hull and George Smith.
