Raymond Roberts

Raymond Roland Roberts, 74, of Churchville, lost his battle to cancer at Augusta Health on Friday, June 8, 2018.

He was born November 22, 1943, in Burnsville, a son of the late Clarence Lacy and Mary Virginia (Pullin) Roberts.

Mr. Roberts was raised in Burnsville United Methodist Church and was recently baptized by his nephew, Pastor Wendell Schurtz Jr. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and time spent fishing. Additionally, Raymond will be remembered as an accomplished and gifted guitar player who enjoyed entertaining throughout Bath, Highland and Allegheny counties.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Randall, Grady Sr., Lacy and Cletis Roberts; as well as his long-time companion, Nancy A. Hatcher, who passed earlier that same day at her residence.

He is survived by his sister, Maudy Schurtz of Woodstock; and two brothers, Richard Roberts, Roscoe Roberts and wife, Wanda, all of Burnsville.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
