Deborah Kay (Stuart) Miller, 66, of Pasadena, Md., passed away, Sunday, April 17, 2022 while visiting her son in Ruckersville, Va.
She was born In Staunton on February 16, 1956, the daughter of the late Weldon Allen and Laura Alice (Kiracofe) Stuart.
Debbie graduated with honors from Fort Defiance High School and Magna Cum Laude from James Madison University. She spent many of her working years with the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C., currently with the Department of Homeland Security.
Making friends and maintaining friendships were very important to Deborah. Debbie was a devoted mom and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She liked visiting with family and friends in person and by telephone. Debbie enjoyed the “simple pleasures” of life.
Debbie leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, Matthew Elliot Miller and companion, Kelle Remeikas of Waynesboro, Va. and Aaron Jesse Miller of Ruckersville, Va.; daughter, Rachael Elizabeth Miller and companion, Matthew Cooper of Pasadena; five grandchildren, Isabella, Mason, Raelynn, Joseph and Laura; step-daughter, Samantha Miller Hayner and husband, Chase and their children, Rielyn, Kyla, Lawson and Chandler, all of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, William “Billy” Stuart of Head Waters and James Stuart and wife, Cindy of Staunton; aunt and uncle, Myrtle (Kiracofe) and Elwood Gernon Hoover; sister-in-law, Dreama Nary; great friends, Janie McMeans and Mona Hatfield; as well as a niece, numerous nephews and many cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and father of her children, Haskell Miller; and beloved brother, Phillip Allen Stuart.
Debbie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held, 11 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2022 at Obaugh Funeral Home with Pastor Beth Pyles officiating. Interment will follow in Head Waters Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew Miller, Jesse Miller, Chase Hayner, Matthew Cooper, James Stuart and William Stuart.
The family will receive friends, 5-7 p.m., Sunday, April 24 at the funeral home.
