Herman M. Carpenter, 90, died Monday, July 15, 1991 at Bath County Community Hospital.

He was born October 31, 1900 at Bolar, a son of Joseph Wilson and Margaret Della Frances (Armstrong) Carpenter. He was a retired farmer.

On August 11, 1926 he married Mary (Trimble) Bussard. He was a member of Valley Bethel Church of the Brethren.

Meggin Lynn Smith, daughter of Norma Jean Smith of Woodbridge, was stillborn June 28, 1991 at Fair Oakes Hospital in Fairfax.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her grandmother, Janet Smith of Woodbridge; and great-grandmother, Sally Falls of Burnsville.

The Rev. Steve McMillion will conduct a private graveside at Williamsville Cemetery.

Mary Emma Rust, 88, of Hot Springs, formerly of Richmond, died June 3, 1991 at Springs Nursing Home.

Mrs. Rust was born June 18, 1902 at Doe Hill and was the daughter of the late William Isaac and Polly Ann (Pitsenbarger) Hull.
