Wrethia Mae "Reas" Ruckman, 82, of Hightown died on Saturday, November 28, 1998 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital from congestive heart failure.
She was born on March 22, 1916 at Crabbottom, a daughter of John Arthur and Clemmie Virginia (Hevener) Ruckman.
She was a lifetime member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school secretary for 40 years. She was secretary to the Highland County Commissioner of Revenue for 10 years, taught school at Blue Grass for a number of years, was a member of the retired Teachers Association and also worked at Blue Grass Valley Bank for several years.
Surviving are a sister, dahlia Waggoner of Hightown; two brothers, Johnie of Selma, Ala. and Virgil Ruckman of Clearwater, Fla.; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Union Chapel United Methodist Church by the Revs. Richard S. Gibson and Joseph C. Bradford, with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roy L. Jr. and Gerald R. Waggoner, Gary Swecker, Andy Hupman, Alan Puffenbarger, Bryan Werner and Blane, Tim, Rusty, Sam and Duane Ruckman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Judy, Linda, Eric and Stephanie Waggoner, Kristina Werner, Carol, Jon and Daniel Swecker, Judy and Michael Hupman and Darlene Puffenbarger.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at Obaugh Funeral Home.
