William Hale Wilson, 85, of Monterey, died on Tuesday, October 8, 1996 at Springs Nursing Center.
He was born on October 20, 1910 at Vanderpool, a son of William Henry and May (Gum) Wilson.
He was a member of Pisgah Presbyterian Church and was a charter member of Mill Gap Ruritan Club. He served in the Army during World War II.
Surviving is his widow, Doris Judy Wilson, whom he married on December 30, 1941.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Bill Moore and Richard Gibson, with burial in Green Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim and Ben Stephenson, Crawford Roach, Ronnie White and David and Gibson Crummett.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends and family attending the service.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
