William Simmons

William F. Simmons, 89, of Spruce Street, Monterey, died Friday, January 10, 1997 at Bath County Community Hospital.

He was born on may 28, 1908 at Vanderpool, a son of Ira and Lena Florance (Wolf) Simmons.

He was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation before his retirement.

Surviving are a son, William F. Simmons Jr of WV; sister, Sally Eva Ward of Radford; and two brothers, Jessie and John E. Simmons, both of West Augusta.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church at Mustoe by the Rev. Donald E. Rose with burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be William Huffman, Homer and Charlie Simmons, Mack Ratcliffe, David Botkin, Frank Gayhart, James Thompson and Denny Hull.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
