William Richard Perdue, 75, of McDowell died Saturday morning, April 13, 1991 at King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born January 9, 1916 at Gainsville, Texas, a son of William Othie and Annie Augusta (Spradlin) Perdue.
He served in the Army Air Copts during World War II. He worked at an Airforce base in Sacramento, California, as a flight test supervisor. He was chief of aircraft maintenance in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam war. He was a member and deacon of Missionary Baptist Church, Roseville, California.
Surviving are his wide, Jean Perdue of McDowell; two daughters, Judy Doleman of Chesapeake and Jolen Howard of Modesto, Calif.; two sons, Richard D. of Roseville, Calif., and Jeffrey L. Perdue of McDowell; a sister, Oleta A. Burch of Modesto, Calif.; three brothers, L. Douglas of California; Howard Lee of Oakley, Calif., and Gary L. Perdue of Redding, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral by Elder Richard D. Perdue and the Rev. Jerry Ginn, with burial in Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel F. and Matthew D. Doleman, David J. Perdue, Steve and Jeff Shumate and Robin Vance.
The family will receive from 3-5 this afternoon at the funeral home in McDowell.
