William Andrew Neil

William Andrew Neil, 59, of McDowell, died Sunday morning, March 8, 1992 in King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born September 11, 1932 in Highland County, a son of William L. and Margaret (Bishop) Neil.

He served in the U.S. Army and had been a logger before becoming disabled. He was a member of Clover Creek Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his mother of McDowell, survivors include a daughter Patricia L. Neil; two sons, Stuart and David Neil, both of McDowell; four grandchildren, Carrie, Kevin, Amy and Timmy Neil.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Neil; and a brother, Junior N. Neil.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home Home by the Rev. Lester LaPrade. Burial will be in the Shumate Family Cemetery near McDowell.

Pallbearers will be Roscoe and Glen Bishop, Donnie Splaun, Leonard and Danny Neil, Grady Roberts Jr., Ronnie Daughtery, James Pullin and Robert H. Neil.

The family will will receive friends from 7 to 8 Tuesday night at the funeral home in McDowell.
