William Dunlap III

William McCluer Dunlap III, 63, of Glen Allen, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 in Cookeville, Tenn.

He was born August 3, 1954 in Roanoke, a son of the late Rita “Betsy” Margaret (Brock) and William McCluer Dunlap Jr.

On September 11, 1993 he married Annette Lynne Skinner.

Billy was a partner and general manager of Sam English of Virginia, a company that specialized in boiler maintenance. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, William “Trea” McCluer Dunlap IV and Rachel of Henrico; Brandon Shell and girlfriend, Jessica Durgin of Glen Allen; one granddaughter, Penelope Dunlap; two grandsons, Brandon Jr. and Jaxon Shell; four sisters, Vickie Sobrito of Amelia; Patti Boyd of Ontario, Canada, Betty Canning of White Stone, and Cindy Tuck of Tappahannock; as well as a brother, Richard Dunlap of Bumpass.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, October 14, at 2 p.m. in Monterey Cemetery with the pastor Mary Robinson officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Obaugh Funeral Home.

Additionally, a memorial service will be held Friday, October 20, 1-4 p.m., at Belmont Recreation Center, 1600 Hilliard Road, Henrico, Va. 23228.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Monterey Cemetery, c/o Nancy Sweitzer, 228 Triple Oak Lane, Hot Springs, Va. 24445.
