William “Dale” Beverage, 58, died Tuesday, November 21, 2000 at his residence.
He was born February 16, 1942, at Strait Creek, a son of Audrey L. (Harper) Beverage and the late Henry Martin Beverage.
He was a member of Monterey United Methodist Church. He retired from the McDowell Area VDOT after 32 years of service. He was co-owner of a local excavating business.
On May 20, 1974, he married Brenda Armstrong.
Survivors include his mother of Blue Grass; his wife, Brenda A. Beverage of McDowell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie B. and Jr. Bradley, of Stuarts Draft, Stacie B. and Alan Truslow, of Staunton, and Cynthia D. and Jeff Wood, of McDowell; a son, Steven Dale Beverage, of McDowell; two granddaughters, Bethany and Rachel Truslow; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Thelma Beverage, of Monterey; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol Jean and Carl Lee Simmons, of Blue Grass; three nephews; a niece; a great-nephew; two great-nieces; and a great-great-niece.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Ginn, with burial in McDowell Presbyterian Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lyle Armstrong, Kyle Moyers, Wayne Arbogast, Steve Burns, Bill Huffman and Dean Beverage.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of McDowell and Monterey VDOT, Glenn Wood, Dwight Harper, Guy Siron, Wilton and Stuart Simmons, John and Tom Beverage.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
