Whitney "Randolph" Simmons

Whitney "Randolph" Aubrey Simmons, 67, of Doe Hill, died Monday, April 8, 1996 at his residence.

He was born January 12, 1929 at Head Waters, a son of Whitney Oliver and Georgie Elizabeth (Jenkins) Simmons.

He was a member of the Doe Hill United Methodist Church. He retired in 1987 from Smith Transfer Corporation after 35 years of service. He was a member of Local Teamsters No. 29, and an inactive members of the McDowell Fire Department. He was recently employed by Obaugh Funeral Home.

Surviving are his widow, Betty (Wilfong) Simmons of Doe Hill; a daughter, Christina Rade of Moyers, WV; and four sons, Dean and Gary, both of Doe Hill, David of McDowell and Michael Simmons of Moyers, WV; a brother, Clyde Simmons of Staunton; and three grandchildren, Joshua and Kayla Simmons of Doe Hill and Bryan Simmons of Moyers, WV.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Timothy Strock, with burial in McKendree Cemetery near McDowell.

Pallbearers will be Forrest Bosserman, Earl Snyder, Minor Ramsey, Bill Weakley, Eli Sunderlin, Rudolph Siron, Roy Simmons and Dick Hiner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Armstong, Lee Blagg, Donnie Splaun, Tom Jones, Delbert Rexrode Jr., Bob Armstrong, Doug Siron, Alfred Armstrong, Craig Smith, Kyle Obaugh and Eddie Moyers.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
