Wendell Doyle

Wendell Holmes Doyle, 61, died Friday night, May 23, 1997 at Bath County Community Hospital.

He was born March 5, 1936 at Bolar, a son of Orvie M. and Carrie (Carpenter) Doyle.

He was self-employed grounds keeper. He was a member of the Hot Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Myrtle Bussard of Bacova and Allene L. Campbell of Waynesboro; two aunts, Hazel Reynolds of Burnsville and Mary Carpenter of Bolar; number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Arnold B. Doyle and two sisters, Della Anise and Alice Marie Doyle.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. James Hobbs with burial in Valley Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Hamilton, Robert Fertig, William Robertson, Tommy and Lowell Terry, Carlos Bryant and Ronnie Carpenter.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. tonight at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
