Wallace “Wally” Henry Malcolm, age 75, of Burtonsville, MD, died Monday, February 13, 2006 at Laurel Hospital. He was born April 11, 1930 in McDowell, VA, a son of the late, Henry Harrison and Dora Margaret (Armstrong) Malcolm.
On September 1, 1952, he married Devona Lippard, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Bonnie Lynn Malcolm, who just recently made one of the vice-presidents of the U.S. Postal Service; three sons, Wallace Henry Malcolm, Jr., Jeffrey Wayne Malcolm and Theodore Eugene Malcolm, all the sons work in construction. They followed in their dad’s footsteps – a great carpenter – builder. He is survived by three grandchildren; two brothers, Clement Guy and Elmer Lyle Malcolm; three sisters-in-law, Katherine, Evelyn and Lucille Malcolm and a brother-in-law, George Smith.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Highland Seventh-Day Adventist Church by the Rev. Dr. Allen Sipes. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Chip Flowers, Steve, Mike, Van, Jim and John Malcolm and Jay Brockett. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
