Vivian D. Walsh

Vivian "Vicki" Leigh Davidson Walsh, age 83, wife of Maywood "Tony" Walsh, of Blue Grass, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Born March 5, 1940 in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Davidson, Jr and wife, Thelma Cornelia (Ritchie) Davidson.

Vicki made it into medical history books when she became the first person in Virginia to have open heart surgery at the age of 12. She worked as a nurse for several years before becoming a homemaker. Vicki and her husband Tony started a stained glass business after Tony retired from work. She had a passion for cooking, sewing and crosswords.  She watched Jeopardy every night and loved a good game of Scrabble.

Surviving family members include her beloved husband of 55 years, a son, Rhett Walsh of Bellefonte, PA; a daughter, Lynn Bachenberg of Vienna; a stepson, Ricky Walsh of Norfolk; and sisters, Betsie Messick and Charlotte Bass.

In keeping with Mrs. Walsh's wishes her body will be cremated and ashes spread at a later date.

A special thank you from the family to her neighbors and friends who were a special blessing to Vicki in the last years of her life.
