Virginia Colaw

Virginia (Hevener) Colaw, 86, of Monterey, died on Friday, January 16, 1998 at Augusta Medical Center.

She was born on February 20, 1911 at Highland County, a daughter of Jonas Franklin and Rhoda Ohio (Wilson) Hevener.

She was a member of Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church and the senior citizens group. Before her retirement, she was employed by Aileen, Inc.

Surviving are two daughters, Louise Pritt of Monterey and Jo Ann Hartman of Blue Grass; a son, Leo Dotson Colaw of College Park, Md; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Rose, with burial in Hightown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Frank Smith, Darrell Jr. and Douglas Gum, J.D. Chestnut, Steve, David and Laymond Colaw and Gary Rexrode.

Honorary pallbearers will be the senior citizens group and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 tonight at the funeral home at McDowell.
