Viola P. Rexrode, 92, of Poquoson and formerly of Mill Gap died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton. She was born February 14, 1917 in Mill Gap a daughter of the late Elbert Alfonso and Jessie Mae (Rexrode) Pullin. On April 26, 1941, she married Boyd Garfield Rexrode, whom preceded her in death in 1981. She was also predeceased by a brother, Ralph Pullin.
Mrs. Rexrode was a homemaker and an elder at Beulah Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Manfred Freeman and Wanda and Mike Evans, all of Poquoson; two grandchildren, Sara Evans Baker and husband, Greg of Richmond and Christopher Evans and wife, Lindsey of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2010 in the Beulah Presbyterian Church with the Rev. C. William “Bill” Cox and Rev. Melissa Litrel- Harmon officiating. A private burial will be at the Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be R.C. Pullin, Robert Pullin, David Puffenbarger, David James Puffenbarger, Donnie Rexrode and Larry Rexrode.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
