Vada Mae Waybright, 86, of Franklin, WV, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at Hampshire Center in Romney, WV.
She was born May 21, 1934 in Smoke Holes, WV, a daughter of the late Oas and Gerna Katherine (Vanmeter) Judy. On February 28, 1948 she married Carl Waybright.
Mrs. Waybright was a past member of Williamsville Presbyterian Church and attended Wayside Baptist Church. She had worked at Aileen, Inc. for 16 years and then Hanover Shoe Company for 12 years. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and cooking. Vada will be remembered as the true definition of being a mom and grandma.
She is survived by her only child, Carl Lee Waybright, of Franklin; two grandchildren, James Ulrich Waybright and wife, Laura of Circleville and Jessica Danielle Waybright of Riverton; five great-grandchildren, Cash, Tommy, Michael Wayne, Madison Danielle and Mason Waybright; one brother, Ona Clement Judy, of Manassas, Va.; as well as three sisters, Audrey Kibler of Woodstock, Va., Beulah Boggs of Strasburg, Va. and Sylvia Judy of Roanoke.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Kibler and Hazel Conrad; and four brothers, John, Harold, Leslies and Donald Judy.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2020 at Puffenbarger Family Cemetery, Possum Trot Lane, Monterey, Va., with the Rev. Walt Westbrook officiating.
The staff of Obaugh Funeral Home will receive those wishing to pay their respects throughout the day Thursday, June 4, between the hours of 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be friends and family in attendance.
