Ulreca "Reka" Shultz

Ulreca “Reka” Gum Shultz, 67, formerly of Mill Gap, died Saturday, August 7, 1999, at Augusta Medical Center.

She was born August 19, 1931 at Mill Gap, a daughter of John Ashby and Mary Margaret (Gum) Shultz.

She was a graduate of Monterey High School and James Madison University. She was a teacher for the U.S. Air Force in Alaska and Florida and in international schools overseas. She was a member of the Beulah Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister Cappie B. Shultz and a brother Everett “Shorty” Shultz.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law Mary S. and Andy Graham of Goshen, with whom she made her home; a brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Maxine Shultz of Monterey; two nephews, David and Jack Graham; three nieces, Cappie Hull, Sherry Sullenberger and Mary Moomaw; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. James W. Moore. Burial will be in the Hightown United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gene Hull, Sam Rexrode, Gordon Corbett, Garland Dever, R.C. Pullin, Gene Hammer, Joe Brock and June Lowry.

Honorary pallbearers will be T.E. Billingsley, Gary Billingsley, Jacob Hevener, George Bird, George Swecker and Lynn Townsend.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
