WARM SPRINGS, VA Thomas Fred Hise, age 68, of Warm Springs, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 17, 2015 while working in the woods. He was born Sept. 24, 1946 in Bath County, son of the late George Hamilton and Maggie May (Layton) Hise. Mr. Hise was a member of the Chimney Run Church of Brethren and a lifelong logger, well known for his skills in the woods and tackling "Big Timber". A selfless man, he never greeted anyone without a smile, knew a stranger, or did anyone wrong. He will be remembered as a friend to many, enemy to none, and "Paw" to all. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hise was predeceased by five brothers. Surviving family members include his daughter "Daddy's Little Girl" and son-in-law, Cherie and Ronnie Robertson, of Hot Springs; his son, Tommy Lee Hise, Sr. and wife, Kathy of Warm Springs; grandchildren, Matt Robertson, Miranda Crouse, Mironica Robertson, Ashlee Hise, Tommy Lee, Jr., Billy Baldwin, Nick Parker, Megan Parker, Dusty Parker, Liberty Nolan, and Destiny Nolan; great-grandson, Winchester Ray Burke; lifelong friend and mother of their children, Kathy Morton of Warm Springs; special friend, Melinda Parker of Hot Springs, whom he thought of as a daughter; special cousin, Wes Hise of Warm Springs, whom he always thought of as a son; his dear friends, Tommy and Tracy Baldwin of Warm Springs; beloved dogs and true companions, Cody and Boomer; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and good friends, too many to count also survive. The family will hold a memorial service 6 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2015 at Chimney Run Church of the Brethren with Pastor Billy Robertson officiating. The family encourages family and friends in attendance to share in a meal following the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.
