Thelma Moyers

Thelma (Colaw) Moyers, 72, of Monterey, died on Sunday, September 3, 1995 at Augusta Medical Center.

She was born on March 4, 1923 at Highland County a daughter of Russell and Lillie (Rexrode) Colaw.

She graduated from Blue Grass High School in 1940 and attended Dunsmore Business College. She stared work with the Highland County Extension Department in 1943 and left in 1947. From 1952-55, she was employed by the Welfare Department. In July 1955 she again joined the staff o f the Extension office and worked there until her retirement on June 30, 1983 after 31 years of service. She was a charter member of Highland Homemakers Extension Club and a member of Monterey United Methodist Church.

Her husband, Leslie H, Moyers, died on May 15, 1995.

Mrs. Moyers is survived by two brothers-in-law Harlan and Lacy Moyers and one sister-in-law, Louise Rexrode.

Surviving is a son, Martin Russell Moyers of Monterey.

A memorial service be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Monterey United Methodist Church by the Revs. Robert Haley and Norman Compton.
A private burial will be at Blue Grass Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
