Sylvia "Virginia" Puffenbarger

Sylvia “Virginia” Puffenbarger, 90, of Staunton, died Tuesday, January 01, 2008 at Kings Daughters Community Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 1, 1917 at Blue Grass a daughter of the late Josiah and Lucy (Slayton) Puffenbarger.
She was a homemaker and a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Loretta Teter of Swoope; two grandsons, Timothy Teter of Swoope and Chad and his wife, Dixie Teter of Mt. Solon; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Jason and Lori Teter; a sister, Dorothy Vann of Virginia Beach and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2008 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by Rev. Andre Crummett. Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Harold and Sam Arbogast, Donnie Dowdy, Tom Hevener, Charles Puffenbarger, Raymond Grogg and Burt Moyers. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
