Shaun Preston Hevener, 28, of Hightown passed away, Thursday, October 31, 2013. He was born July17, 1985 in Waynesboro a son of Jerry Wayne and Debbie Hevener. Shaun took care of the family farm and was a jack of all trades and always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor and quick wit. He enjoyed hunting and photography and was an avid metal detector. Additionally, he collected coins, bottles and NASCAR memorabilia. Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Debbie Hevener of Hightown; his brother, Jeremy Wayne Hevener of Harrisonburg; paternal grandmother, Lois Hevener of Monterey; aunt, Dawn Botkin of Harrisonburg; uncle, Dwayne Botkin of Middlebrook and many special friends. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Rev. Andre Crummett officiating. Burial will follow in Hightown Cemetery. In addition to his father, active pallbearers will be Dwayne Botkin, Ronnie Moyers, Ronnie Ralston, Gary Rexrode, Gage Simmons and Justin Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
