Sarah Botkin

Sarah Lydia Botkin, 94, of Sugar Grove, died Tuesday, September 9, 1997 at her home.

She was born on April 9, 1903 at Moyers, a daughter of Henry and Minnie Simmons.

On December 13, 1924, she married Arlie Clement Botkin, who died on September 3, 1983.

She was a member of Crummetts Run Church of the Brethren and she belonged to the Sugar Grove Senior Citizens.

Survivors include one son, Wilmer Botkin, Sugar Grove; one sister, Edith Harper, Moyers, WV; one brother, Robert Simmons, Moyers, WV; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Crummetts Run Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Richard Boggs, with burial to follow in the Crummetts Run Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Nelson Simmons, Clyde Puffenbarger, Warren Mitchell, Dennis Bodkin, Warren Rexrode, Gilbert Simmons and Harlan Botkin.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 Friday evening at the funeral home in McDowell.
