Samuel Isaiah Salmons, 2, of Burnsville, died Sunday, August 17, 2003 at the University of Virginia Medical Center as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born November 21, 2000 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, a son of James Lelin and Tara Ervin Salmons.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Miles Salmons and Isaih Gibson Sr. and his maternal great-grandparents, Beulah and Sam Ervin Sr.
He leaves behind his parents; a brother, Jonah Nathaniel Salmons; maternal grandparents, Sam and Gail Ervin of McDowell; paternal grandparents, James and Sandy Salmons of Hurley; paternal great-grandparents, Dolly Gibson of Burnsville and Delphia Salmons of Hurley; maternal great-grandparents, Grady and Lula Roberts of Burnsville; three aunts, Amber and Morgan Ervin of McDowell and Cassandra Salmons of Hurley; an uncle, Keith Salmons of Hurley; a special godmother, Jessica Simmons of Hightown; an extra special aunt, Kay Smith of Staunton; and a number of special relatives and friends.
A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20 at Obaugh Funeral Home by Pastor Frankie Neff.
Burial was in Burnsville Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Eric and Derek Smith, Don and Isaih Gibson, Sam Ervin and Nick Patler.
Honorary pallbearers were friends attending the service.
