Russell Rexrode

Russell Vaiden Rexrode, 64, of Monterey, died on Friday, August 2, 1996 in Monterey.

He was born on May 15, 1932 at Monterey, a son of Charles and Minnie (Rexrode) Rexrode.

He served in the Army for two years. He attended Asbury United Methodist Church and worked at Hanover Shoe Company for 26 years as a lining cutter.

Surviving are his widow, Marie (Hiner) Rexrode of Monterey; a son, Ronald Rexrode of Staunton; four sisters, Artie Mae Simmons of Monterey, Shirley McCray of Harrisonburg, Bonnie Warner of Hinton and Mildred Bailey of Ceredo, WV; and a brother, Randolph Rexrode of Monterey.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Haley with burial in Monterey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny Halterman, Arnet Gutshall, Dale Propst, Charlie and Dale Simmons and Mark Rexrode.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
