Ruby Lambert

BLUE GRASS, VA Ruby F. Lambert, 84, of Blue Grass, passed away, Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Springs Nursing Center. She was born July 18, 1929 in Blue Grass a daughter of the late John Adam and Sudie Edith (Hinkle) Fultz. A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she loved to cook and bake, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a deep appreciation for her family's home place and loved living there. She was a past member of the Blue Grass United Methodist Church. On March 20, 1948, she married Robert William Lambert who preceded her in death on August 5, 2006. She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila M. Lambert of Williamsburg and Roberta A. Lambert of Monterey. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Rev. Andre Crummett officiating and assisted by Kenny Carroll. Burial will follow at Blue Grass Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Richard Waybright, R.C. Pullin, Jerry Rexrode, Jackie Will, Elmer Waybright and Jim Whitelaw. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Obaugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland County Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 268, Monterey, VA or Highland County Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 267, Monterey, VA 24465.
