Roy Curtis Bussard, 74, of Bacova, died Sunday, March 11, 2001 at Bath County Community Hospital.
He was born June 13, 1926, at Highland County, a son of John Wesley and Mary Eve (Miller) Bussard.
On August 19, 1948, he married Myrtle Frances Doyle.
He retired from Bacova Guild Limited after 33 years of service. He was a member of Valley Bethel Church of the Brethren. He was a member of the NRA and a past member of Bolar Ruritan Club and Hot Springs Moose Club.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Faye Bussard.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Bussard of Bacova; four daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and John Elfers of Staunton, Donna and David Rodgers of Bacova, Kathy and Jeff Strasser of Mitchelltown and Penny and David Horne of Bacova; a sister and brother-in-law, Genie and Garland Hollen of Montezuma; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. James Hobbs and Steve Shaver, with burial in Big Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, John Rodgers, Clinton and Justin Peery and Daniel Strasser, in addition to Robert Lindsey, Tony Kelly, Donnie Carpenter and Arnold Doyle.
Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
