Roscoe Kile, 82, of Pendleton Nursing Home, and formerly of Harrisonburg, died Thursday, May 24, 2005. He was born May 13, 1923, in Pendleton County, W.Va., a son of the late Alfred and Addie Cassell Kile.
Mr. Kile was a plumber for Riddleberger Bros. Inc. in Harrisonburg for 26 years and he was a farmer. He was a member of St. Paul Independent Lutheran Church and he served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Rexrode Kile; four brothers, Tom, Vernon, Okie and Melvin Kile and five sisters, Mary Burns, Eva mauk, Marge Grey, Clara Brown and Sally Kile.
Mr. Kile was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Jerry Smith.
Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans Organizations of Pendleton County.
Active pallbearers will be Melvin Kile, Kenny Crummett, Delbert Rexrode Jr., Tom Jones, Mike Eye and Mike Simmons.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
