Ronald Hayden Corbett, 59, of Woodbridge and formerly of Monterey, died Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Potomac Hospital.
He was born September 8, 1943 in Monterey, the youngest son of the late Fred C. and Clara V. McGuffin Corbett.
Mr. Corbett was a member of the Monterey Presbyterian church. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked in Monterey for Hammer’s Garage and Home Gas Co. The last 18 years in Woodbridge, he worked for Ferrellgas Co.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, one being an infant, Vera E. Corbett, and Helena J. Gee, and a brother Claude R. Corbett.
He is survived by a brother, Gordon R. Corbett of Richmond; a niece, Lisa C. Boxley; and two great-nephews, Cameron W. and Peyton C. Boxley, all of Richmond.
A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. James W. “Bill” Moore.
Burial was in the Monterey Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David Boxley, C.W. Hammer, Jim Evans, Loy Harvey, Eugene Ratcliffe and Olin Waybright.
Honorary pallbearers were friends attending the service.
