Romane Ratcliff, 66, died Thursday, September 28, 2000 at her residence.

She was born November 28, 1933, at Highland County, a daughter of Edward Wayland and Edith (McLaughlin) Ratcliff.

She was a homemaker and a member of Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church.

She was preceded  in death by two brothers, Mack and Roy Ratcliffe; and a sister, Pauline Waybright.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Gerald H. Ratcliff of Monterey; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Allen and Debbie Ratcliff of Covington; a grandson, Daniel A. Ratcliff of Covington; a brother, Kyle Ratcliffe of Hot Springs; a foster brother, Billy Pritt of Monterey; nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Revs. Donald E. Rose and Jerry Ginn, with burial at Hamilton Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Allen Lowery, Charles Rexrode, Eugene Ratcliffe, Doug and Roy Gutshall, Bill Banks, Dr. Ronald Chio and Holmes Stephenson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Keith and Charlie Simmons and friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
