Robert Eugene “Bobby” Botkin, Sr., age 68, of Staunton, died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at his home. He was born May 23, 1938 at Williamsville a son of the late Robert Lee Botkin and Icie Virginia (Varner) Botkin.
On June 14, 1957, he married Audrey Lockridge.
“Bobby” was the president of his own company, B.T.S., Inc. for over 48 years in the Augusta County and surrounding area. He attended Millboro High School. He came to the Staunton area in 1956, where he meets his wife of over 48 years. He was employed at Smith Transfer and Houff Transfer before starting his own business. He loved his camp in Highland County and his farm “Botso” in Fishersville before he became ill, battling cancer for 8 months. He was a former member of Williamsville Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Botkin; his mother, Icie Botkin of Staunton; two daughters, Brenda Landes and her husband, Danny of Staunton and Phyllis L. Botkin of the home; two sons, Robert “R.E.” Botkin, Jr. of the home and Gary Lee Botkin and his wife, Deborah of Fishersville; three brothers, Larry Botkin and his wife, Pat of Staunton; Sherrill Botkin and his wife, Sandra of Churchville and Billy Botkin and his wife, Dale of Staunton; four grandchildren, Ryan Whitesel and his wife, Ashley of Staunton; Mia, Andrew and Kendal Botkin, all of Fishersville; a special friend, Dave Driver; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m., Monday, June 5, 2006 at Linden Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. David Anderson. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Dave Driver, Thom Jennings, Mike Degrassi, Mark Flippo, Tom White, Ed Baker, Bo Flint and Max Hirtrider.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell and at the home on 179 Hunters Lane.
