Robert “Bob” Hulcher Duncan, 68, of the Back Creek Community of Highland County went to be with his Lord, Monday, December 2, 2002.
He was born August 14, 1934 in Richmond, a son of the late James Alexander and Lorene Gladys McClung Duncan.
On August 27, 1960, he married Nancy Louise Howdyshell.
Mr. Duncan was a logger and avid hunter. He attended Green Hill United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a POW.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Wayne Duncan and three brothers, Wallace, Jimmy and Patrick Duncan.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Duncan of Monterey; three sons, Robert Dennis Duncan and Teresa of Blue Grass, James Scott and Dawn Duncan of Burnsville, and Michael Todd Duncan and Tina of McDowell; two grandsons Devin Scott and Michael Draven Duncan; a sister, Patricia JoAnn Duncan of Lancaster, Penn.; several nephews and a niece.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2002 at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Mike Sullivan and the Rev. James W. “Bill” Moore.
Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Omar King, Harold DeVore, Pat Lowry, Matt Rogers, Ronnie Duncan, Scott Siron and Kyle Obaugh.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday evening at Obaugh Funeral Home.
