Robert Eckard

Robert "Bob" Kenton Eckard, 61, of Mt. Sidney died, Friday, August 11, 1995 at his residence.

He was born April 2, 1934 at Vanderpool, a son of Kenton H. and Lula (Williams) Eckard. On September 23, 1955, he married Mary Louise Hiner.

He was a member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church; he served in the Air Force and was a member of the National Rifle Association.

In addition to his widow of Mt. Sidney, surviving are two daughters, Pamela K. Clark of Staunton and Penny L. Via of New Hope; and two grandchildren.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Haley. Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ernest L. Hiner, James R. Johnston, Robert M. Hanna, Larry Plyler, Waldo Botkin, B.G. Freeman Jr., Roy Gutshall, Carlton Hull and Melvin Eckard.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends and relatives attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
