Reed Beveridge

Reed Munson Beveridge died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003.

She was born on July 15, 1921 in Connellsville, Pa., the daughter of Ruth Hopwood and Fred Danks Munson.

Mrs. Beveridge graduated from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, and met her husband, Dr. John Harmon Beveridge, at the University of Virginia while he was a medical student there. They were married Sept. 18, 1942 and moved to Nashville in 1947.

She enjoyed many interests and activities including her work in behalf of the Florence Crittenden Home and the Salvation Army. She was particularly fond of the Good Samaritan Sunday school class at Westminister Presbyterian Church, the Centennial Club, the Colonial Dames, and her Thursday lunch group. She was devoted to her friends and above all to her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Isaac Munson, and her granddaughter, Anne Taylor Beveridge.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Lucinda Reed Beveridge and Anne Beveridge Wallace; son Mark Stockton Beveridge; grandchildren Reed Harwell Harrison, Jonathan McKelvey Harwell Jr., John Beveridge Wallace, Virginia Hamilton Wallace, Anne Wallace Nesbitt, Johnson Bransford Wallace Jr., Elena Wallace Graves, Elizabeth Reed Beveridge, Mark Stockton Beveridge Jr., Gloria Bond Beveridge, Henry Seybert Beveridge; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 13 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wesminster Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Beveridge will be buried with family in Monterey, Va. on Saturday, November 15 at 11 a.m.
