Rebecca Eckard

Rebecca Fern (Marshall) Eckard, age 68, of Moyers, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at Avante at Waynesboro. Mrs. Eckard was born February 12, 1938 in Blue Grass a daughter of the late James Newman and Geneva Mae (Wilfong) Marshall.
Mrs. Eckard was a member of the St John Lutheran Church in Moyers, WV and a home- maker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Lee Eckard, in January of 2001 and a brother, James H. Marshall.
She is survived by a daughter, Penny Stump of Franklin, WV; a brother and sister-in-law, Everett and Janet Marie Marshall of Mustoe; a sister, Martha Lynn Hammer of Staunton; a sister-in-law, Lois Marshall of Staunton; three grandchildren, B.J. Wilson of Franklin, WV, Brittany McDonald of Franklin, WV and Melissa Stump of Mt. Sidney; four nieces, Debbie and husband, David Caywood of Staunton, Tonia and husband, Keith Comer of Winston Salem, NC, Tammy and husband, Judd Briggs of Dunwoody, GA, Kim and husband, David Wimer of Churchville; four nephews, Jimmy and wife, Donna Marshall of Staunton, Danny and wife, Betty Marshall of Staunton, Steve and wife, Cindy Marshall of Weyers Cave and Tony and wife, Traci Marshall of Mustoe.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Donald E. Rose. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be James H. Marshall, Jr., Daniel Marshall, Steve Marshall, Tony Marshall, David Caywood and B.J. Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be friends in attendance. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
