Randolph R. Vandevander, 63, of McDowell died on Wednesday morning, December 15, 1993 at his residence.
He was born on February 10, 1930 at Blue Grass, a son of Neil and Lillie Vandevander. On July 3, 1953, he married Minnie (Catherine) Robinson of McDowell.
He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church. He was a school bus driver for several years and was custodian of Stonewall Elementary School, McDowell.
In addition to his widow, surviving are a daughter, Shelva Anderson of Harrisonburg; two sons, Carl R. of Charlottesville and John Vandevander of Sugar Grove, WV; two sisters, Mildred Moats of Harrisonburg and Ada Belle Snyder of McDowell; and five grandsons.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Strock, with burial in McKendree Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Hull, Robert, Carlston and Roger Vandevander, Jimmy and Delmas Moats and Dolon Puffenbarger.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and friends attending the service.
