Ralph Homer Botkin, 84, died Monday, April 23, 2001 at the home of his son, Roland Botkin in Harrisonburg.
He was born July 11, 1916, a son of Henry Clay and Bertha (Simmons) Botkin.
He was a member of Crummett Run Church. He had worked for the Forest Service and retired from the West Virginia Highway Department 22 years ago. After retiring, he was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Marie (Wilfong) Botkin on December 20, 1979. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Clay Botkin; and a stepdaughter, Marjorie Atwell.
Survivors include two sons, Roland T. and Ralph Eugene Botkin, both of Harrisonburg; two granddaughters; a step-granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. James S. Bosserman, with burial at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
