Rachel Pitsenbarger

Rachel V. Pitsenbarger, 81, of Franklin, WV, died Thursday evening, January 21, 1999, at Camelot Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harrisonburg.

She was born June 13, 1917, at Moyers, WV, a daughter of Oscar and Maggie (Leach) Rexrode.

Mrs. Pitsenbarger was a member of the Totten Chapel united Methodist Church, Sugar Grove VFW Post 9666 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary being a gold star mother.

Her husband, Theodore R. Pitsenbarger, preceded her in death November 24, 1975. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Cliff Pitsenbarger.

She is survived by two daughters, Thelma Thompson of Atlanta, GA, and Wilma Rexrode of Franklin, WV; a son, Ray M. Pitsenbarger of Staunton; 3 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 25, 1999, at the Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles W. Townsend and Rev. Jerry Smith. Burial will be in the Totten Chapel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be James O. Pitsenbarger, Worthie Pitsenbarger, Ralph Pitsenbarger, Everette Pitsenbarger, Stanley Lamb and Dwight Moyers.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
