Permelia Jones

McDOWELL, VA Permelia Anne Jones, 98, of McDowell, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at her home. She was born July 31, 1915 in Monterey a daughter of the late Ernest Buck and Sally Juanita (Herold) Whitelaw. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and had worked at Hanover Shoe Company for 15 years. She was a wonderful housekeeper, good cook and loved to play the piano. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret S. Harper of Franklin, WV; son, Thomas J. Jones and wife, Linda of Doe Hill; grandchildren, Cheryl Jolley of Maysville, WV, Barry Armstrong of Timberville and Craig Armstrong of Harrisonburg; great-grandchildren, Nicole Ballard, Justin Armstrong, Wyatt Armstrong and Kyle Jolley and her sister, Betsy Geserick of Herndon. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Juanita Anne Armstrong; her sister, Nancy Gentry and two brothers, E.B. and Heyward "Red" Whitelaw. A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014 in the Monterey Cemetery with the Bishop J. Hartman officiating. Friends may call at Obaugh Funeral Home.
