Pauline Rexrode Ralston, 71, of Crimora and formerly of Monterey, died Saturday, May 19, 2001 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born May 21, 1929, at Blue Grass, a daughter of Cameron Loyd and Almedia Wimer Rexrode.
On September 10, 1957, she married Cecil “Milton” Ralston, who preceded her in death on April 26, 1992.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Rexrode, and two brothers, Andrew Wesley Rexrode and Berlin Lee Rexrode. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Ralston was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church. She retired as a dispatcher from the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy R. and Howard E. Estes of Crimora; two grandsons, Scott E. Estes of Charlotte, N.C. and Darren W. Estes of Crimora; four nephews and their spouses, Andrew Delmas and Barbara Rexrode, Gary and Debbie Rexrode, Melvin and Terry Rexrode and John and Pam Rexrode; and a niece and her husband, Audrey and Clyde Delmas Moats.
A funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Cynthia Frye.
Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Rick Cook, Dave and Jim Cox, Bobby Thomas, Bill Garrettson and Kirk Propst.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Highland County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Hopecrest Mobil Home Park at Crimora.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. today.
