Patsy Lou Malcolm, formally known as Patsy Lou Puffenbarger, 73, of Churchville, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at her home.
She was born October 1, 1947 in Cherry Grove, WV, a daughter of the late Hazel Bell (Arbogast) and Olen Faircloth Malcolm.
Ms. Malcolm was a homemaker who very much enjoyed her family, especially caring for her grandchildren. Additionally, she enjoyed time spent listening to gospel, bluegrass and country music. She was a member of The Lighthouse Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Ray Stover Malcolm and Junior Charles Puffenbarger; daughter, Martha Jane Puffenbarger; brother, Arnold Malcolm; as well as one great-grandchild.
Ms. Malcolm is survived by her daughters, Nancy Smith of Staunton and Betty Griffin and husband, Durwood of Churchville, and Martha Roadcap and husband, Randall of Staunton; six grandchildren, Kelly Price and husband, Jay of Churchville, Christopher “Buck” Puffenbarger and Ida Puffenbarger of Churchville; Jessica Roadcap and Emily Roadcap of Staunton, and Shawn Huffman of Buena Vista; four great-grandchildren, Krissa Price, Jayson Price, MaKayla Puffenbarger and Austin Price; four brothers, James Malcolm of Cherry Grove, WV, Albert “Shorty” Malcolm of Monterey, Bobby Malcolm of Raphine and Delbert Malcolm and wife, Lori of Raphine; sister, Susie Seal and husband, Brian of West Augusta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at The Lighthouse Church in Swoope, with pastor Harold Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Puffenbarger, Colton Loss, Michael Losh, Royce Marshall, Hunter Marshall, Dean Pitsenbarger, Todd Harris and Cory Armstrong.
Ms. Malcolm’s great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Obaugh Funeral Home will receive family and friends wishing to pay their respects throughout the day Tuesday, February 9th, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Martha Roadcap, 2857 Morris Mill Road, Staunton.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Patsy Malcolm Memorial Fund, c/o Blue Grass Valley Bank, P.O. Box 516, Monterey, Va. 24465.
