Nellie May Wagner, 72, a resident of Avante at Waynesboro, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002.
She was born May 1, 1929, at Vanderpool, Highland County, a daughter of Jessie and Bessie Harris Tidd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Luther Wagner; a son, Frederick Lee Wagner; a brother, Aubrey Tidd; and a sister, Carrie Hevener.
She had lived in Highland County and at the Plaza Apartments, Staunton. She worked for many years in the house keeping department of King’s Daughters’ Hospital and was a member of the Open-door Sunday School Class of Verona United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Debra Mae Bell and Dale of Staunton; a son and daughter-in-law, Sonny Wagner and Betty of Waynesboro; two sisters, Jessie Dever and Annie Faye Helmick, both of Monterey; three grandchildren, Daniel Bell, Tracy Wagner and Jeannette Carver; and two great-grandchildren, Melanie and Dillon Carver.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. David M. Burch officiating. Burial will be at the Propst cemetery.
Pallbearers will John and Bill Wagner, Pete and Howard Lickliter, Jaret Dever, Johnnie Tidd and Steve Sweitzer.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Open-Door Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
