Nancy S. Swecker, 64, of Monterey died Friday, July 24, 1998 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born on March 7, 1934, at Blue Grass, a daughter of Luther Compton and Willie Louise (Pence) Simmons.
On November 7, 1953, she married George R. Swecker, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Susan of richmond and Elly Swecker of Harrisonburg; a granddaughter, Charlotte Ellen Arbogast of Harrisonburg; a grandson, Brent William Arbogast of Harrisonburg; a sister, Charlotte Simmons Schooler of Blue Grass; four brothers, Luther C. and Car Lee, both of Blue Grass, E. Douglas of Verona and K.K. Simmons of Monterey; an numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Monterey Presbyterian Church. She was a part-time employee of the Monterey Livestock Sales for many years. She was a honorary lifetime member of the Blue Grass Ruritan Club.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday at Monterey Presbyterian Church by the Rev. William Moore, with private burial.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, at the family residence in Monterey.
