BOLAR, VA Miles Lee Kelley, 64, of the Big Valley Community of Highland County, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at his home. He was born February 21, 1949 in Highland County a son of the late Julian Garnet and Reta Madelene (Hamilton) Kelley. Mr. Kelley was a member of Hamilton Chapel Church; the Wagon Wheel Hunting Club and a charter member and past chief of the Bolar Volunteer Fire Department. He had worked 13 years at the Homestead, as groundskeeper for the golf course and had been a truck driver and was once employed at VDOT He is survived by his wife, Janie Sue (Collins) Kelley, whom he married May 19, 1973; daughter and son-in-law, Samantha K. and James Wilson of Covington; four grandchildren, Jade Wilson, Nathan Wilson and wife, Maria, Tonia Cleek and Courtney Boothe and husband, Andrew; three great-grandchildren, A.J., John Michael and Kylie and his sister, Marcia K. Cleek and husband, Dale of Stuarts Draft. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013 in Hamilton Chapel Cemetery with the Pastor Mike Puffenbarger officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jay Wilson, Rick Griffin, Charles Rexrode, Eddie Ailstock, Richard Lockhart, Tommy Terry, Lowell Terry and Danny Ryder. Honorary pallbearers will be Toby Conner, Dale Cleek, David Colaw, Jody Colaw and members of the Bolar Volunteer Fire Department and Wagon Wheel Hunting Club. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
