Mildred Leach

Mildred (Bishop) Leach, 89, of Head Waters died on Friday, June 28, 1996 at Camelot Nursing Home, Harrisonburg.

She was born on December 19, 1906 near Doe Hill, a daughter of Elijah and Polly (Botkin) Bishop.

On January 2, 1929, she was married to John W. Leach, who died on November 17, 1956.

She was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of Head Waters Presbyterian Church and the Women's Circle and taught Sunday school for several years.

Surviving are two daughters, Helena Leach of Head Waters and Juanita Propst of Harrisonburg; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Lester LaPrade, with burial in Head Waters Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Leland Brown Jr., D.D. Puffenbarger, Dick Armstrong, Carl and Roscoe Bishop, David Ralston, Elmo Varner and Stuart Neil.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
