Michael Lee Lowry, 35, of Monterey, died on Wednesday, September 30, 1998 as a result of a logging accident.
He was born on May 2, 1963, at Mill Gap, a son of William Ashby and Mazie Marie (Galford) Lowry.
He was a member of Green Hill United Methodist Church. He was a logger and employed with Lowry Logging Company for 17 years.
In addition to his mother of Monterey, surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Connie Marie and Richard Gabel of Louisville, Colo; a brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Myra Lowry of Monterey; a special friends, Johnnie Nelson of Franklin, WV; a niece and four nephews.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Jerry Ginn and William Moore with burial in Green Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Simmons, Kenneth Armstrong, Richie Hicks, Tracy Smith, Casey Simmons, Randy Harold, Charles Nelson and Rocky Colaw.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Kisamore, Justin Will, Allen Colaw, Alton Ryder, Richard Waybright Jr., Burt Arbogast, Marshall Simmons, John Depue, Steven Wimer, Steven Grogg, Shane Copley, Lee Good, Charles and Richard Kelly, David Bowers, Nathan Rexrode and Jimmy and John Wright.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-9 at Obaugh Funeral Home.
