Melvin "Pete" Rogar Halterman

Melvin Rogar "Pete" Halterman, 74, of Franklin, WV died on Friday evening, June 11, 1993 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

He was born on July 23, 1918 at Blue Grass, Va., a son of William and Elsie (Propst) Halterman.

He attended Thorny Bottom Church and was a retired farmer.

Surviving are a daughter, Carolee Wimer; a son, Earl R. Halterman, both of Staunton, Va.; two sisters, Sadie Folks of Fishersville, Va. and Juanita Rexrode of Monterey, Va.; two brothers, Howard and Hubert Halterman, both of Monterey; three grandchildren, Crystal Dawn Wilkins, Melvin Halterman and Kelvin D. Halterman; great-grandson, T.J. Wilkins; and a special friend, Annie Kimble of Franklin.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Dennis Sites with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eugene, Junior, Wayne and Steve Halterman, Marlin Rexrode, Marvin Beverage and Sheril Simmons.
