Melvin Helmick

Melvin Lee Helmick, 65, of Bridgewater, died on Sunday morning, November 27, 1994 at Rockingham Memorial Hosptial.

He was born on February 18, 1929 in Pendleton County, WV, a son of the late Early and Bettie Jane (Simmons) Helmick.

On November 20, 1947, he married Hazel Simmons.

In addition to his widow, surviving are two daughters, Dottie Randozzo of Staunton and Barbara Dean of Port Republic; two sons, Jerry Lee of Big Island and Ira Helmick of Bridgewater; brother, Elmer Helmick of Monterey; a step-father, Alvie Gum of Monterey; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Turner, with burial at Puffenbarger Cemetery near Monterey.

Pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Solon Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
