Maxine McCutchan

Maxine M. McCutchan, 83, of Staunton, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at her home at Gypsy Hill Apartments. She was born November 26, 1925 at McDowell a daughter of the late Thomas Brown and Ollie Virginia (Kerlin) Malcom.
On September 28, 1946, she married Eugene Ernest McCutchan, Jr.
Mrs. McCutchan was a member of Staunton Church of the Brethren. Following graduation from McDowell High School and Dunsmore Business College, she was employed for seven years as a legal secretary. After her husband’s death on January 8, 1965 she returned to Highland County, where she was employed for four years by Highland County School Board and 15 years as a dispatcher with the Highland County Sheriff’s Department.
She is survived by a son, Thomas E. McCutchan of Missouri; two granddaughters, Amber Lee (McCutchan) Miller and husband, Jody of Franklin, WV and her children, Cory, Taylor and Tyler and Heather Michelle McCutchan of Highland County and her son, Jacob.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2009 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by Pastor Larry Danner. Burial will be in Thornrose Cemetery.
